Why isn't my reviewer's name showing?
This is part of the Clinical Content System subscription. If your clinic isn't subscribed yet, you can see what the Clinical Content System includes.
Sound familiar?
"I picked a reviewer but their name isn't on the article." "What does 'Waiting for approval' mean?" "What's the Send button for?"
What's happening
A reviewer's name appears once they have approved the article. Picking them is the first step. Their approval is the second.
How it works
- Pick a reviewer for the article. Choose a different clinician from the author.
- We email them a review request straight away.
- They open the link in the email, read the article and approve it.
- Their name and credentials then show as "Reviewed by" on the page, and in the page's code that search engines and AI tools read.
Until they approve, the article says "Waiting for [name] to approve. Their name appears on the page once they do."
What to do now
- The article says "Waiting for [name] to approve". The request has gone. Ask your reviewer to look for the email and approve it.
- The article says "Review link not sent to [name] yet". Press Send next to it. One click sends the request.
- No reviewer is picked. Pick one. There is no "Reviewed by" line until you do.
- You want a different reviewer. Change the reviewer and a new request goes to them.
The question behind the question
"Is it worth chasing?" Yes. A named, qualified reviewer is one of the strongest trust signals a clinical page can carry, for patients, for Google and for AI tools. Pick a reviewer for every article and make sure they approve it. "Why do I need a reviewer at all?" explains why.
The next question is usually...
- Why do I need a reviewer at all?
- Is there a faster way to fill in clinician profiles?
Still stuck? This usually means...
- Your reviewer can't find the email. Ask them to check their junk folder, then press Send again.
