Why does my content credits display look odd?

Sound familiar?

Your credit balance shows zero but generation works fine. A number went down when you did nothing, or did not go down when you generated a piece. The figures do not seem to add up against what you have created. You are worried about running out mid-plan, or about being charged later for what you have generated. All the same cause, and nothing is wrong with your account.

What's happening

Please ignore the credit figures for now: credits are not switched on for your account yet. You are on unrestricted generation while we finish that side of the system, so nothing is limiting what you can create, and no credit number you see is billing you for anything. The interface shows parts of the credit system before the switch-on, which is why the figures can look odd or contradictory in the meantime. Odd numbers there are cosmetic, full stop.

Meanwhile your usage is being tracked carefully on our side, and it will be backdated correctly and fairly when credits go live. Nothing you generate now counts against you 🙂.

Why it works this way

We would rather you build your visibility now than wait for a billing display to be finished. Momentum on your plan is worth more to your clinic than a tidy number in the corner of the screen, so the honest version of the numbers is kept behind the scenes while you work unrestricted, and it is the fair, backdated version that will apply.

  1. Ignore the credit figures, genuinely. Do not plan around them, save up against them, or slow down because of them.

Worth knowing about the design that will apply later (no dates promised): a monthly content allowance is included in your subscription, unused monthly credits accumulate rather than expiring (a quiet month is not a wasted month), and the system deliberately rewards publishing — publish your pieces and confirm their live links, and a share of each piece's credits comes back to you as bonus credits. "Will I be caught out later by a surprise bill or a drained balance?"
