How do I earn credits back for an article I've published?
This is part of the Clinical Content System subscription. If your clinic isn't subscribed yet, you can see what the Clinical Content System includes.
Sound familiar?
"I've published loads of articles but I haven't had any credits back." "Do I get credits automatically when I publish?" "What does Validate & earn do?"
The short answer
Press Validate & earn on each article once it's live on your website. 🎯 Publishing on its own doesn't earn the credits. Validating does, because it's how we confirm the article really is live, and that's what the credits reward.
How it works
- You publish the article on your website, whichever way you publish.
- You open the article in Content Studio and press Validate & earn, with the article's live web address in the box.
- We check the live page to confirm your article is there.
- Once it's confirmed, about a third of what the article cost comes back to you as credits, and the article is marked as published.
If you publish through the Co-Kinetic WordPress plugin or a Co-Kinetic Sites website, the live address is usually filled in for you already. You still need to press Validate & earn.
What to do now
- Go through the articles you've already published and press Validate & earn on each one. There's no deadline, so an article you published months ago earns just the same.
- From now on, make it part of publishing: put the article live, then validate it straight away. ✅
Good to know
- One earn per article, and one per web address. Republishing the same article, or pointing two articles at one page, doesn't earn twice.
- Earned credits are spent first and last three months from the day you earn them. Publishing regularly keeps them topped up.
- What each article earns back is in "How much content do I get, and what does each piece cost?".
The question behind the question
"Why did validating give me no credits?" Earning credits back is part of a paying subscription. It returns about a third of what an article cost you. So if your clinic is trying the system as a guest, or your subscription has ended, validating still checks the page and marks the article as published, but no credits are added.
The next question is usually...
- How much content do I get, and what does each piece cost?
- What are content credits, and do they expire?
- I'm not on WordPress. How do I get my content onto my site?
Still stuck? This usually means...
- We couldn't find the article at that address. Check the link goes to the article's own page, not your homepage, and that it's published. If you've just edited the page, clear your site's cache and try again.
- It says the address has already been confirmed for another piece. Each published page can only be confirmed once. Check you've used the right address for this article.
- Anything else. Tell us in the chat with the article's title.
